Every year we sit down with dozens of homeowners planning a renovation, and every year a handful of ideas come up again and again. Here are the five trends we’re seeing the most right now – and why they’re worth considering for your own home.
1. Warm, Minimalist Kitchens
Stark white kitchens are giving way to warmer palettes: soft oak cabinetry, honed stone counters and brushed brass hardware. The goal is a kitchen that still feels clean and uncluttered, but not cold.
2. Statement Bathroom Tile
Bathrooms are where homeowners are willing to take the biggest design risks – bold zellige tile, a patterned floor, or a full-height accent wall behind the tub. A small room is the perfect place for a big statement.
3. Indoor-Outdoor Living
Wide sliding or folding doors that open a kitchen or living room onto a patio are consistently one of the highest-value additions we install, especially for homes that entertain often.
4. Smart, Simple Technology
Rather than complicated whole-home systems, most clients now want a handful of smart upgrades that are genuinely useful: smart thermostats, under-cabinet lighting on a schedule, and video doorbells.
5. Natural, Durable Materials
Quartz, porcelain and engineered wood continue to win out over higher-maintenance natural materials, especially in busy family homes – the look of stone or hardwood, without the upkeep.
If any of these caught your eye, we’d love to talk through what they’d look like in your own home.
